1/32 HAT SYW Austrian Fusiliers Prototypes

plate created by Franco Saudelli
I am excited to present to you the 1/32 SYW Austrian Fusiliers Prototypes that I received from HAT earlier with the request to paint them. For me, this conflict was quite new when it comes to uniforms and units so I had to do my research and dive into the Seven Years Wars. Since I am Dutch my choice was obvious when I came across this regiment from Sachsen Gotha:  ''After the signature of the Treaty of Rastatt, on March 6 1714 and of the Treaty of Baden on September 7 1714, the former Spanish Netherlands became the property of the Habsburg monarchy and were then known as the Austrian Netherlands. Units raised in this province were thus incorporated into the Austrian army''. (Source:http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Sachsen-Gotha_Infantry).

The prototypes were a joy to paint and I felt honoured to paint these Hat 1/32 Prototypes! They are 3-D printed which became more visible after dry brushing or using washes. Nevertheless, this will not be a problem with the final products to which I now look forward to add to my collection!

*Note: The sac and bayonet on the firing figure are missing but will be there with the final product.

I hope you like them! Enjoy!

  1. Thank you for showing these. The Belgium/Luxembourg branch of the army does not seem to get as much attention as the eastern regiments.

  2. Hi Rahway! Thanks for your message. You are most welcome! Yes they don't seem to get that much of attention while they have an interesting history and also very beautiful yet simple uniforms! So therefor I thought I would be nice to paint them up as the Sachsen-Gotha Regiment! :) Maybe others are inspired now to do the same when they become available!
