Stansarmee is back! And never left... Let's catch up! Hat 1/32 American Civil War prototypes Marching set 1 and 2 painted in the summer of 2024

ACW marching set 1 and 2 prototypes  A small and fun commission for HaT Industries that I received mid-June last year.  After a long hiatus, I am back! But where to start? Lets go back to 2020 shortly after my graduation, life was coming at me. I also started using Instagram and felt it was much more accessible and easy to maintain. I was uncertain if anybody besides me and a handful of loyal supporters were reading and enjoying these posts! I hope you all will return!? And if you are reading this, welcome back and I am happy to find you here! When recently someone named Parsifal complimented me about my blog via Instagram,  I felt that spark again...I noticed that even after four years of NOT posting the blog gets views every day and I was surprised by the amount of total views!  In 2022 I got post covid (long COVID,  meaning long-term COVID, chronic fatigue) which not only made life severely more challenging, but it also made painting much more exh...

Good day all! Its been a while since I have posted anything here or anywhere else! I hope you are doing fine? As I bet with many folks its been a weird couple of months. The covid situation gave me extra stress and work and gave very little time to work on my figures. For a while I was also separated from them, staying at my parent's place. Though I managed to start building a 1/32 forest which I soon hope to finish! Here a quick update, I haven't done entirely nothing! I finished the foot officer of my Chasseurs and build and painted as the cherry on the pie a mounted officer! Now the Chasseurs are good to go and its basing time! I wanna finish the trees up next and do a nice photo shoot or set up. I am still contemplating whats next..I have some figures ready to be painted on the shelve and some other wishes I wanna work out, still focusing on the 1809 campaign I will need lots more of Austrians but also need to speed up my french ;-)  These figures...

Latest edition to my Habsburg Army Hungarian Grenadiers IR 37 Weidenfeld

Image
These are the eight figures I've painted recently, I had two others already painted but based them horizontally...It could not change that without breaking the figures so I just kept them like that and did the others vertical since it results in a better formation. And the conversion of the flag bearer carrying the  Ordinärfahne (Pattern 1806)  I am pleased with the end result and think that a flag really adds to the unit! So more flags to come in the future!  And some small wooden fences I've made :-)  And off they march! I painted these with the intention of being Hungarian Grenadiers of IR. 34 Davidovich but they have silver buttons and I gave mine yellow or gold/copper buttons...So now they will be IR 37 Weidenfeld.

Paint desk update, October-January what I have painted/done

The last months work for the final phase of my bachelor in photography has sooked up most of my time (writing my thesis, graduation work etc). Though I did manage to occasionally paint here and there, making a slow process on certain projects. Two weeks ago I finally managed to document the paintwork I have done since roughly the first week of October. Enjoy some pictures and some toy soldier rambling! A call to Arms Life Guards converted to Austrian Light Dragoons.  I think these deserve to go first to stick to more or less chronological order. I think I converted these A call to Arms British life Guards somewhat by the end of September into Austrian Light Dragoons or Chevau Legere...To be precise the 5th Regiment Klenau as they would have looked more or less by 1809. I digged these up out of my collection, both the figures on the left had no sabres anymore. So the 2nd from the left I gave a new sabre, the other received a pistol. All men received the typical deta...
